At JF Joinery, we are committed to the sustainable joinery manufacture of timber windows and doors in the UK.
To achieve this, we are dedicated to implementing practices that reduce our ecological footprint while providing high-quality timber products. Our manufacturing facility uses renewable energy sources including solar and off-peak electricity, we source components from the UK where possible and use FSC certified sustainable timber.
Ethically Sourced Timber
We use only sustainably sourced timber from well-managed forests. All of our wood is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified, meaning it meets stringent environmental and social standards.
Sustainable Manufacturing
Our commitment to sustainability extends to our manufacturing processes and our building. JF Joinery has invested in a large solar panel array and battery storage system to power the workshop, providing up to 50% of our energy requirements. The battery storage system ensures we can use this energy efficiently, even during low sunlight periods, allowing for consistent and sustainable operations.
Energy Efficiency
Our products are future-proofed for energy-saving performance, minimising heat loss and contributing to a comfortable living environment, a crucial factor in enabling homeowners to lower their energy consumption and reduce their heating and cooling costs.
Timber is a natural insulator and Lignum window and door products can be fitted with the latest vacuum glazing technology to outperform triple glazing.
Waste Reduction and Recycling
JF Joinery implements lean production techniques to reduce offcuts and by-products, ensuring that as little material as possible goes to waste. Wood dust is repurposed into briquettes and used as biomass fuel.
Community Engagement
JF Joinery and sister business JFJ Wood Flooring are routed in our community, we encourage families to use the recreational area and take advantage of the free range produce from our land. We aim to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability and inspire others to make environmentally conscious choices.
